Coach Carter

As usual, I volunteered to go first for the America in the Movies project in AP Comp. I chose to use the movie Coach Carter in describing how it relates to America.

I used three scenes. One where the basketball team wins on a buzzer beater, one where they lose on a buzzer, and the last scene I used was of a player giving a long speech to his coach. The connections I used were pretty simple. For the first scene, I said that anyone can make it America, which is why they call it the Land of Opportunity.

For the second scene, I said that even though anyone can make it, everyone fails at some point in their life and hard work will eventually pay off. The third scene I said that the words the player used to give the speech basically described America.

I got an A- on it. Yeah. That's right.
