The Essays We Read In This Class
The essays we read in this class are too old. Over 3/4 of the essays we read in this class are from like 1750. Seriously, I already have a history class where I have to read this stuff. Why can't we read about current stuff that actually effect us. I mean seriously, this class would be so much more interesting if we read about significant stuff.

Justin. . . a lot of the stuff we read about IS significant and it DOES affect us. Your life would not be how it is right now if it weren't for some of the things we've read about.
ReplyDeleteIt's true they are a little dated, but I think there's a lot of good information coming out of these essays. My only complaint would be the length..seeing as I have a life (lol). Thank god for study halls!
ReplyDeleteThe current essays are just as important, but we get some good lessons out of the old ones. And as I recall, half of the craziest debates that have happened in AP Comp have been over old essays, so that must say something.
ReplyDeleteWow, Ali got really defensive. Anyway, I agree with Kyla. The essays are informative, but they can be a little long sometimes. I just wish the really long assignments were were only assigned to us over the weekends. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I really agree that some of the essays were very long, and it was hard to do those ones on week nights (yep wish I had a study hall!) I agree that some of the essays were really old, but sometimes those are the ones that have a lot of meaning or importance. But I think it would have been better if there was more of a mixture of old and new essays.
